Pedestrian

In Pedestrian the performer shifts between 5 distinct modes or characters. These characters are a composite of a whole yet here they come through as individuals each with their own demands and desires. Pedestrian is a playful and at times awkward ride into the dream fabric of existence.

Introducing: The Snake – dripping, timeless, formless, non binary, it swallows whole and makes use of every part, nothing escapes its formless nature. The Lizard – small, fearful and bold, cousin to The Snake. Smoke Mother – floating, evaporating, slipping between cracks of things, only to condensate and redirect. It’s ungraspable and constantly moving, inherently sensual. Falling Monarch – An inflated moment of stillness. It indulges in only being this. A transitional state. Weightless and peaceful with a definite sound of wind passing by. The Fool – obscene, hysterical and disruptive.

Pedestrian was shown at Dansehallerne as part of their New Shi* program at Copenhagen Contemporary in 2021 an earlier version was created and performed in Aabent Laboratorium residency in 2019.
