Vibrant Matter

VIBRANT MATTER is a performance created by choreographer Sophia Mage, visual artist Laura Rathschau and sound artist and composer SØS Gunver Ryberg. Staged within the wide halls of KPH Volume, serving vibration through a Funktion-One sound system, the generosity of space, light and resonance unfold into a rhythmic sculptural dreamscape. Narratives with multiple scales of visibility, presence and density, sensuously coalesce, mutate and erode. A multi-sensoric flirtation, a genre bending concert, dance performance and installation.

Vibrant Matter is an aesthetically captivating performance in which several art forms truly merge and carry each other. The movement of the body, the light, the sound and the space create a sculptural unity and form an organism between dystopia and utopia.

– Mette Garfield, Bastard Blog

Charlotte Petersen, Hilde Ingeborg Sandvold, Sophia Mage and Klara Utke Acs use all their pent-up energy to slowly unfold, while the spectators over time find their inner peace and begin to sense, understand and empathise with these four beings. (…) The dancers are outstanding in their performance and when excellent artists like Sophia Mage, Laura Rathschau and SØS Gunver Ryberg let go of egocentric visions and instead co-create a work like Vibrant Matter the result is excellent.
